Sandflow releases the largest multi-domain 3D-as-code dataset in a single language: 100,000 objects, from screws to grand pianos

From mechanical parts to articulated mechanisms, every object is a readable program, open source with commercial use allowed.

Lyon, France, November 5, 2026. Sandflow, a French startup building foundation models for 3D, today open-sourced Sand3D: a language that describes 3D objects as code, and 100,000 objects written in it. It is the largest 3D-as-code dataset to cover mechanical parts, everyday objects and articulated mechanisms together in a single language, and the most diverse released so far, with thousands of object categories.

Each object is a readable program in which every dimension is a parameter. Change a value, run the program again, and the object updates. Every object ships with a render, a 3D file ready for Blender, game engines and robotics simulators, and its original source. More than 10,000 objects are articulated, with 36,000 joints, each checked against the original.

Built as parametric code

On October 21, NVIDIA and Hugging Face launched SimReady Central, more than 2,000 objects prepared for robotics simulation. Sandflow’s library answers a different need: parametric code. A standard 3D file describes a surface. A Sand3D program describes how the object is built, with every dimension as a parameter, so a language model can read it, edit it and write new ones. The two complement each other: the library includes 2,369 of NVIDIA’s SimReady objects, rewritten as code, among its 100,000 objects.

“Language models learned to write because the web was full of text and code. 3D never had an equivalent. Sand3D is the foundation we were missing ourselves: real-world objects, described in a language a model can read and write. We’re opening it up because generative 3D will move faster if everyone starts from the same base.”

Félix Balmonet, founder and CEO of Sandflow

Available today

The library is released under Apache 2.0 and the dataset under CC BY 4.0, with commercial use allowed. Get them at huggingface.co/Sandflow and github.com/Sandflow-ai. Sandflow will release its first 3D foundation model in mid-December.

About Sandflow

Formerly Chat3D, Sandflow is a French startup based in Lyon. It builds foundation models that understand the world and create 3D as code, and works with manufacturers, retailers and studios in Europe and the United States. The release follows the funding round Sandflow raised in 2025. sandflow.ai
